Ball screw applied to flatbed inkjet printer

    Ball screw, also known as lead screw which contains a screw , nut and steel ball , ball screw is good for IT industry, optoelectronics, semiconductors , medical and other precision equipment most commonly used transmission components , its main function is to change the rotary motion into linear motion or the torque into axial force, high-precision, reversible and high efficiency characteristics, can meet different ball screw on all areas especially the application requirements for flatbed inkjet printer.
 
Ball screw features:
Using of ball screw has a lot of advantages: high efficiency , reversibility , zero backlash , high rigidity , high precision lead and a number of other advantages compared with the conventional Actmix screw (ACME), by adding steel balls in between screws and the screw inter nuts, changing conventional screw sliding friction drive to a ball rolling motion , in order to greatly reduce friction wear and tear , helps to maintain high efficiency and accuracy.
 
( 1 ) high efficiency and reversibility
    Since the ball screw shaft and nut are rolling motion in the contact point , so its efficiency can be as high as 90 %, so it needs only 1/3 of conventional transmission torque, the ball screw is more mechanical efficiency than conventional lead screw . Ball screw type tooth surface is processed by ultra-precision machining ,in order to reduce the contact friction between the balls and groove between the bead and ball rolling of the operating point -contact in low friction and high operating efficiency, it can be reduced motor driving force demand , thereby reducing costs.

 

(2) zero backlash and high rigidity    
CNC machine tools, IT industry and semiconductor equipment require for zero backlash, minimal elastic deformation (high rigidity) and high sense of smooth, a Gothic type ball screw for the tooth using pre-applied pressure to achieve the CNC machine to reproduce and high rigidity of the whole trip, but too much pre-load will increase the operating torque, will generate heat and reduce life expectancy by special design and manufacturing process, the best of a ball screw with zero backlash and minimum heat loss.
 
(3) High precision lead    
Ball screw accuracy class follow ISO, JIS and DIN standards can also be manufactured according to customer demand production shall in accuracy class, by using precision laser measurement equipment to ensure the accuracy of the ball screw follow with each milling precision table during process to be 100% quality assurance.
 
(4) Life Prediction    
Unlike conventional screw rod wear and tear of life depends on the contact surfaces, while ball screw depends on the fatigue damage of materials, to ensure the reliability of the ball screw in the life of the expectations, all procedures from design, material, heat treatment and manufacturing process shall adopt the most strictly professional considerations, the ball screw must consider safety factors in life expectancy and quality of the design process but the most important subject to dynamic load basis.
 
(5) Low starting torque and smoothness
  Because the conventional lead screw is metal to metal contact between the surface, so as to overcome the starting friction, you must adopt a higher starting power, however, it is a ball screw ball rolling contact, only a small starting torque to overcome the friction force, using the best type of tooth design (shape factor) and manufacturing expertise in order to achieve optimum real tooth type, by usage of measuring equipment to monitor the manufacturing process, in order to ensure compliance with set torque range .
 
(6) Mute
 High-quality machinery and equipment for fast traveling and heavy-duty operation, must still require low noise. Strict control of circulation with tooth design, assembly skill and strict detection surface precision machining with size, can achieve the goal of low noise.
 
(7) Advanced than air / hydraulic driving
 If the driving is used to replace the conventional ball screw pneumatic or hydraulic drive, ball screw available with more advantages: not leak, do not have filters, energy saving and high repeatability.
 
    Flatbed inkjet printer is using high resolution and precision ball screw drive system, servo positioning accuracy of image overlay print repeatedly without distortion, these are the reasons why a flatbed inkjet printer must use it.
